Gymnastics in Missouri is very advanced and is performed at top levels in global competitions. Gymnastics as a sport, is not only based on flexibility, agility, balance, and coordination, rather it also takes power and physical strength to perform the exercises. It takes a great deal of exercising to master all the skills involved because a slight miscalculation in a move can result into serious injury.

The sport is of global caliber, being exercised at several world class competitions like the Olympics. In such contests as the Olympics, this sport is regulated by an international authority. People who specialize in gymnastics are called gymnasts and they can be people from both genders. Gymnasts start performing the exercises at varied ages. There are categories meant for kids as young two years. This is called kindergym. Other levels involve participants of five years while others involve people of under twenty years and so on and so forth. Each level of participation requires a given level of skills with the highest being the international games.

Gymnastic comprises of different disciplines, which are performed by world class sportspeople. Some of these disciplines include tumbling, trampolining, team gym, acrobatic, artistic, and aerobic gymnastics. Artistic gymnastic is the most popular, and most practiced category. This category has disciplines for both female and male participants. Individuals of the same gender compete in each group of events. Gymnastic can also be practiced as a recreational event besides being a very competitive sport.

The competitive version of the game can be exercised in both indoor and outdoor environments. The gymnasts perform while the judges, normally sitting at a higher position award marks. The scoring system is based on a score called an execution score. Execution score limits the total number of points one can ever achieve to 10. The judge subtracts points from the 10 points based on how efficient the gymnast is. What remains after the gymnast is through is also their final score.

Currently however, there is a new system of awarding points called the difficulty score. This score has no limit to the number of points a person can score. It is based on the level of difficulty of the events one performs and how efficient they are performed. The score also bases on whether one completes all the events or fails to do so.

Difficulty score system is in use in the United States presently. It is seen as a revolution within the industry altogether. This score method has forced gymnasts to invest more training in executing skills correctly. They also try to perfect on linking skills to one another during performances. Properly linked elements during performances earns contestant many marks as it is a principal field considered during giving of marks.

Gymnastics in Missouri gets trained in elegant training facilities distributed uniformly in the place. There are many facilities and legendary gymnasts in the area to learn from. Facilities charge lowly and teach the best events for competition and recreational purposes.
